Carefully planning your portrait is an important step.  Ross Photography's emphasis is on the simplicity, and the expressions of your children/baby. We  look to capture those moments that are spontaneous.

We will focus only a small amount of our time on posing your child, unless otherwise directed by you.  That means, your child will be able to show us his or her own personality, that will be captured by the camera.

We recommend that you dress a smaller infant in either light colors (preferably not bold stripes or patterns) or in just a diaper or onesie.  You may also choose no clothing, as this seems to capture the baby’s age and innocence.  If you do decide to dress your child for the photographs,  We suggest something simple, comfortable and preferably without a collar.  You may also bring a special blanket if you wish…if this will help baby feel comfortable too.

Most children look great in light colors as well, with little distraction from their face.  And if there is something that your child seems to especially feel comfortable, bring it along and we will try to work with it.  Some of our best portraits involve a child holding his/her teddy bear or reading his favorite book.

We will discuss what specific things you would like to see in your portrait.  This will also be the time to tell us what types of backdrops or settings you would like, and whether you prefer black and white portraits, or if you have any special requests.

We have small props if desired, but we really try and focus on the uniqueness of your child’s personality.

If you have any further questions feel free to call (630) 774-0836 or email us information@rossphoto.net to discuss your specific requests for portraits.
